Aztec Culture Garden at San Diego State University

BACK TO PROJECTS

The goal of the Aztec Culture Garden is to educate students, faculty and visitors on Aztec culture, particularly their Ethno-Botanical heritage.  After assisting the University on the site selection, a conceptual design was created that exhibits abstract interpretations of Aztec architecture and agriculture.  Centered around a reflective water feature, sweeping site walls evoke ancient Aztec art, while beds of vegetation along with textured imprints of Aztec food encourage exploration and discovery within a comfortable garden.  The University endorsed conceptual design will be further developed by a local San Diego landscape architect for construction implementation in Spring of 2014.
